WELCOME TO
NEST & RESTMAS: 12 Days of Yoga Nidra
Intention of this practice
This selection of 12 Winter nidras is here to offer you a chance to take time for yourself this Winter as we move towards Spring. It gives you time to pause, slow down and honour the season’s calling. The practice is also the opportunity for your nervous system to shift into its resting state, helping to restore a greater sense of balance to the wholeness of you.
Recordings
The offering or structure of the Nidra’s may change from one to another. This shows the multitude of ways Nidra can be shared. The recordings are taken from live sessions, so you may hear communal or noises from beyond the practice space too.
How to practice
To feel the greatest benefits, practice every day for 12 days. Or, if you have time, why not practice it twice a day!
Chose the same time every day or squeeze it in where you can.
You could practice in the same space, creating a ritual of rest or practice in different places. There is no right way to do practice, only what feels most restful to you.
Make sure you are in a comfortable position seated, reclining or lying down. Use cushions, blankets, pillows and take some time to really ‘nest’. I promise it’s worth the effort.
Organise your environment to suit your sense of ‘nesting’ be warm, cosy, wrapped up, resting in a place that offers you as much quiet and stillness as you access or wish for.
Remember you can move at anytime to attend to your comfort as a radical act of self care. You can use my voice as a guide or not. You may chose to just use this time to nap or to follow my voice. Again, I invite you to take away any expectation of yourself. Let the body guide you into whatever it needs most in the moment.
If you are very tired or sleep easily and have things to do after practice you may wish to consider setting an alarm for the length of the practice to ensure you don’t stay nesting.
You may or may not experience an emotional reaction to practice. Please know if you do, it’s perfectly normal. You are very welcome to contact me by email if you have any questions at all about your practice.
Mostly, enjoy. I invite you to not consider this practice as another thing on your to do list. But more of a delicious festive treat you are choosing to prioritise as a gift to yourself.
