YOGA NIDRA & RESTORATIVE YOGA
Trauma Sensitive Facilitator Training

I have been working therapeutically since 2008 as yoga teacher, yoga therapist since 2020 and a counsellor on placement for the last year. I have worked at Mill View Mental Health Hospital on the psychiatric ward, in the community and privately. I work with everyone however, I have specific experience of working with people who’ve experienced trauma, PTS and addiction and people with a lived experience of neurodiversity, grief, learning and physical disability.

The trainings I have created bring together my years of experience with my years of ongoing training working in mental health and therapy. Being trauma sensitive to me shouldn’t be an add on, it should be a norm. If your training didn’t offer you specific awareness of working in a trauma sensitive way then the trainings below will help fill in the gaps or perhaps even deepen your existing knowledge.

ALL TRAININGS SHARE

  • A trauma sensitive approach centred around safety and ethics.

  • An opportunity to dive into your personal practice and nourish yourself.

  • Guidance and support in a non-dogmatic environment that welcomes all traditions and perspectives.

  • Encouragement to take this learning and to make it your own.

  • Connection and support with other souls who want to do the same work and learn.

  • The experience and knowledge needed to create and share Yoga Nidra in restorative poses.

Trainings are offered in person in Brighton but there is also an option to join online.

yoga therapy in Brighton with Helen Moss

I’m Helen. WELCOME.

“This method has been crafted by my experience as a yoga therapist and teacher facilitating practice for people with mental health vulnerabilities in 121 and groups.

The method was created with these groups in mind but can also be enjoyed by all.

I believe It offers a space in-between the more traditional approaches of combining the practices making it more accessible.” Helen

Helen is such a wonderful, kind and considerate teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.

I came wanting to be able to create my own Yoga Nidra practices (which I can now do). But I also came away with an enhanced trauma informed practice and a greater understanding of restorative poses.

Tending to someone

This training made me feel confident and at ease creating a space for students to rest deeply and guiding their personal inquiry about the process.

As I now deliver the training I can see my own voice and style emerging. This wouldn’t have been possible without Helen’s guidance, encouragement and support. Thank you.
