RESTED MIND COURSE

WELCOME

Firstly, you are not the only one who at this time is seeking support to manage mental, emotional and physical health, you are not alone.

This course is undertaken with the deepest respect for you and your unique experience of life. It does however shine a light on to the commonalities of experience as humans we share, helping to normalise and reassure us that how we are feeling is felt by many others.

This course offers space for you to meet yourself with the deepest of kindness to explore your relationship to your body and mind and how the two communicate together determining how you show up in the world and ultimate how you can be with them in such a way to improve your sense of wellbeing.

IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

The course is open to anyone, any age, ability who wishes to make a positive shift in their experience of anxiety, stress or depression.

You don’t need to know anything about yoga, have practiced it, or be flexible and strong to take part. You just need to be committed to showing up and doing the home practice to benefit from its offering.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately the practices taught make this course unsuitable for people currently experiencing serious mental health conditions (e.g. psychosis or schizophrenia)

CONTENT & STRUCTURE

The structure of the course allows participants to deeply understand how the practices offer support in the moment and long term positive mental health.

Each week has a theme which is explained and explored through:

  • Breath and movement practice

  • Silent inquiry; journalling, meditation, body sensing

  • Group activity related to the week’s theme

  • Explanation of weekly home practice

The themes help participants to notice their mindset, beliefs, habitual patterns of thinking that limit their ability to live in the way they wish.

The practices are designed to teach participants how to make space for meeting and regulating their moods and emotions to bring greater balance to the nervous system and their experience of being in the world.

The course focuses on a deep sense of kindness in its offering. Allowing people to be with what’s arising for them in a safe, grounded environment so they can come to understand how to be with difficult sensations (felt in the body, thoughts or emotions) and potentially shift out of repeating patterns or behaviours that hold wellbeing at bay.

HOME PRACTICE

As with any other discipline in body and mind the best results come with practice. Each week you are given home practice which you will be supported and encouraged to do to help you effect the positive change you wish you see.

The course brings together the ancient wisdom of yoga and mindfulness techniques with research and science to offer an accessible invitation to connect deeply body and mind for positive health.

Whether you draw your inspiration from science or experience, evidence proves anxiety, stress and depression are best treated with a method that addresses mind and body together, that understands our human experience as being ‘whole’.
