RESILIENCE
SOFTNESS & STRENGTH
Being resilient doesn’t mean you don’t find things hard. It means you keep showing up even though you feel discomfort and difficulty. You keep showing up anyway to meet life’s demands as best you can.
Resilience doesn’t mean you’re always strong or able to cope. It means you acknowledge the parts of you that are retreating, soft and vulnerable as you meet difficult times. It means you can dig deep, tune into that innate feminine strength but still remain present to the tenderness of being human.
“‘She stood in the storm and when the wind didn’t blow her away, she adjusted her sails’. ”
Reflections
This week you might enjoy taking some time to reflect or inquire into your relationship with resilience. Here are some ways you would bring it alive this week.
What does it meant to be resilient? Sit comfortably for a moment. Tune into your breathing. Ask yourself ‘What does resilience mean to me?’
Celebrate yourself for showing up when it’s hard. Each day write down three things you did even though they/ there was a challenge.
Welcome vulnerability. See if you can be present to thoughts or feelings of vulnerability this week. Notice when they arise and see if you can just allow them to be there. Without vulnerability we can never know true strength.
