IMAGINE REST Facilitator Training

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SHARING TRAUMA SENSITIVE RESTORATIVE YOGA & YOGA NIDRA

This training and method explores and encourages ways of making restorative yoga & IMAGINED SLEEP (Nidra) more accessible to people with mental health considerations. (50hrs)

This hybrid course is a combination of at home online preparatory practice, reflection and reading before meeting live in person for discussion and more experiential learning.

INTENTION

To equip teachers with the skills they need to confidently and safely offer fundamental restorative yoga poses and Imagined Sleep practices either as a full NIDRA RESTORE class or one their own.

FEEL - HOW WE LEARN TOGETHER

The hours we spend together learning online are offered in the spirit of curiosity, inquiry and collaboration. This is not a top down learning. Your learning will be enriched through sharing your experiences, questions, skills and insights as a group and through experiential practice.

A METHOD NOT A SYSTEMISATION

The purpose of having a clear method is to provide familiarity, reassurance and comfort to participants. It also provides teachers a safe back bone to teach from and to adapt in order to meet what’s arising in the moment of practice.

HOME LEARNING

  • Home learning is a way for you to dive into practice and assimilate and deepen the knowledge taken on during the course.

  • You will be given home learning in preparation for the course (3-5 hours of practice) and after both weekends (roughly 4-6 hours after each).

  • You will receive detailed feedback on all home learning assignments and extra guidance and support if needed to help you complete the requirements needed.

  • Home learning is a requirement for certification.

CERTIFICATION

You will receive a NIDRA RESTORE: Restorative Yoga and Imagined Sleep Fundamentals Facilitators Training certificate on completion of the course requirements.

MENTORING & COMMUNITY

  1. After the course you are invited to a FREE 30min conversation with me about any developments, concerns and  practicalities you’ve en-counted in delivering this work.

  2. Peer support. Each group is encouraged to set up their own social media connection so that you can offer peer support, share ideas and ask for advice and information.

  3. Community through the NIDRA RESTORE teachers page. This is a space for me and you to share ideas, videos, research and other resources and information to keep you informed, inspired and motivated to share this work. It is free during your training and available ongoing for £3 per month.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Committing to the course is really important to make sure you get as much out of it as possible. Please make sure all meeting dates and times work for you before you book.

I’m Helen. WELCOME.

“This method has been crafted by my experience as a yoga therapist and teacher facilitating practice for people with mental health vulnerabilities in 121 and groups.

The method was created with these groups in mind but can also be enjoyed by all.

I believe It offers a space in-between the more traditional approaches of combining the practices making it more accessible.” Helen

Helen is such a wonderful, kind and considerate teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.

I came wanting to be able to create my own Yoga Nidra practices (which I can now do). But I also came away with an enhanced trauma informed practice and a greater understanding of restorative poses.

Tending to someone

This training made me feel confident and at ease creating a space for students to rest deeply and guiding their personal inquiry about the process.

As I now deliver the training I can see my own voice and style emerging. This wouldn’t have been possible without Helen’s guidance, encouragement and support. Thank you.
